Our Pastor
Rev. Rebecca D. Smith serves as our Pastor here at Providence AME Church in Little Mountain, SC. She made history here at Providence AME Church by becoming our first Female Pastor. Rev. Smith's favorite scripture is Micah 6:8.
He has showed you, O man, what is good.
And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God...Micah 6:8
She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC. Also, she recieved a Masters of Arts Degree in Religion from the Lutheran Theological Seminary in June 2009. She is a Registered Nurse and uses that experience to serve as the AME Health Coordinator for The Newberry-Spartanburg District of the Columbia Conference. Rev. Smith also served as the Conference Coordinator for Women in Ministry of the Columbia Conference. She is very involved in local and community issues and is a member of the local Chapin Ministerial Alliance.
